Vineyard
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grape 100% from the Tenuta del Cerano (340 m a.s.l.) Valle Peligna, Vittorito, with medium-textured soil tending towards clay. The training system is a trellis with a spurred cordon. Average yield per hectare is 90 quintals. Manual harvest carried out in the last week of October, early November.
Winery
Destemming and soft pressing. Maceration of the grapes for 15-20 days with temperature control at 28°-30° C. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wine is refined in tonneaux (10-5 hl) where it matures for 12 / 18 months. Bottle aging for 6-8 months.
Wine
Wine with an intense ruby colour with garnet hues. On the nose, intense aromas of forest fruits with vanilla notes. Soft, well-balanced, warm taste. A wine of great structure and aromatic persistence.
Excellent with strong-flavoured dishes, game, red meats, aged cheeses.

Tasting: Cerasuolo pink colour. Aroma of red fruits and flowers. Soft and round taste

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Arboreo Italo Pietrantonj 2008 Alcohol content 13% vol. Produced with 100% Montepulciano grapes.

Aged for 12/18 months (depending on the vintage) in large oak barrels and for 3 months in bottle.

Deep, bright ruby red with garnet reflections.

Intense nose of ripe red and black fruit, vegetal notes, violet, liquorice, wet earth.

On the palate, this is a full-bodied wine, with just the right amount of tannin, pleasant freshness and savouriness. Slightly almondy finish. Not very long, but well balanced.
